Accessibility

Here you will find information about what we are doing to ensure that all our guests can enjoy the experience as comfortably as possible.

01General
information

The Volcano Express uses dynamic seating, sensory effects, and advanced cinematic technology to provide an immersive experience of Iceland’s volcanic landscapes. Guests will feel the motion of a powerful earthquake and will be exposed to high-contrast image sequences.

As such, the standard experience may not be suitable for guests with chronic pain or sensitivity to flashing lights.

02Wheelchair
accessibility

For those guests who use a wheelchair or those who want to experience the Volcano Express without the motion seating, there’s an alternative for you. There’s a designated area for wheelchair users as well as static seating.

Harpa Concert Hall is accessible for wheelchair users in its entirety. You’ll find stepless access at ground level and spacious elevators throughout the venue.

03Assistance

You’ll find friendly staff available to assist you throughout Harpa and the Volcano Express. Just ask us if you need help or advice. If you have any questions regarding accessibility ahead of your visit, contact us at midasala@harpa.is

04Service animals

Harpa is a welcoming space for service animals. Please ensure they are properly harnessed at all times.

Be aware that the Volcano Express is a sensory cinematic experience that may not be suitable for animals.
